A Covid Honeymoon

2020 was a big year for everybody. For my wife and I, it was even bigger. In September, we got married. We had a tiny COVID wedding. Six people. Everyone wearing masks. And everyone else watching for our laptop on Zoom. But one thing that we wanted after lockdown was a honeymoon.

We checked the travel lists, who remembers the traffic light system? and chose the Algarve in Portugal as it was on the green list. For those that don't remember green meant no quarantine once we got back, however, Portugal changed to amber the day we left, which meant two weeks locked inside when we returned.

Travelling during COVID-19 was strange. Usually busy tourist spots were deserted and the Algarve was no exception. This was ideal for an amateur photographer as the streets and beaches were empty, which meant no early wake-ups to capture landscapes with no people during the week stay we travelled the length of the Algarve from Faro to Sagre. I tried to capture as many images as possible, but I was mainly there for my honeymoon, so the camera stayed firmly away.
